When I started coaching kids football 10 years ago in Romford we had 5 West Ham, 1 scouse, 2 Man U.
Roll on the 17 man squad of the under 18’s from the same area we have 8 West Ham, 2 Spurs, 1 QPR, 1 Dagenham, 1 Orient, 3 Chelsea and 1 Arsenal.
Not too sure where I’m going with this but I did start with a point that I can’t remember now that I figured out who supports who. Oh well, Irons ⚒⚒

Nigerian lad who used to take part in our weekly 6-a-side game used to alternate between wearing Liverpool and West Ham kits.
Never really got talking to him, so I don't know what was going on there.
There's also an English bloke who seems to collect red kits (Charlton, Liverpool, Man U, England, and a couple of others) and has at least two yellow kits (Norwich and Brazil).
I don't approve of this promiscuity.

There is a small comfort in supporting a 'non glory club' (apart from pride) My brother in law comes from Battersea and has been Chelsea all his life. He told me that he cried when they won the league in 2004 but when they won it last year he said it didnt feel like a big deal. I said to him here's the difference,we do rarely win anything we have a fucking street party if we get a corner. Meaning when we do actually win something it means so much more to us. And yes i am one of the older cunts who has seen our rare moments of glory.

I still find it weird that any Londoner who could pick any one of say 12 clubs in London could choose a north west team
When I was a nipper I knew a kid who’s family had no interest in football. He had a panini 88 sticker album and said that the first team he completed would be the team he supported.
He still supports Coventry to this day. Poor cunt

I don’t think supporting a team that isn’t your local matters. It’s more the glory hunting.
As I say, why is it that Londoners or overseas fans don’t support clubs like Newcastle or Everton?

By rights, being brought up in North London, I should have followed spurs or arsenal, but when I went with a mate & his dad to see West Ham play, I started supporting us in the early 1960's & have done ever since
When I moved up north in the mid 1970's, I would never have dreamed of switching allegiance
I can understand why people follow foreign clubs too
I remember the brilliant Ajax side of the early 1970's & loved to watch them play because of their entertaining style of football
What really pisses me off are the disloyal supporters who switch from one club to the next depending on success

Spurs - 1
Southend Utd - 1
Everton - 1
Forest - 1
Sheffield Weds - 1
with 2 who don't support amyone...

Swedish bloke I used to work with had a West Ham-supporting Dad - unfortunately, it hadn't stuck, as the bloke himself was ManU.
I suppose Stockholm is 20 miles closer to Manchester than it is to London

when i married my swedish girl, we went to live in Stockholm, sweden for about 8 years or so.
my dad in law was QPR, one of the brothers in law was chelsea and the other was a spud.
by the time we returned to britain they were all Hammers.
we came over to UP a few times for their education so to speak.
so i've done my bit of "foreign office" work for west ham to be fair.
sadly dad in law passed a few years ago, but the boys and their kids have since been over here to see matches a few times.
thinking about how shit we've been for many years, that's quite something in my book.
plus it still costs me a small fortune sending them West ham stuff to this day.
COYSH !!!!. ( come on you Swedish Hammers).

Over the years when new people started at work the first question we asked them was what team do you support?
when an Asian started we just asked United or Liverpool, one day I asked this to a young Asian lad and his responce was neither of those 2 cunts I'm West Ham!
We also had a blank map of Britain and used to ask the glory hunting cunts to point out where Manchester or Liverpool was on the map most of them couldn't.
